Brett Warta

I'm a long time travel enthusiast and live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Growing up in a small town in Kansas, exploring the outside world quickly became a fascination. Mountain terrain always embraced my curiosity early in life, and has continued to be a main attraction in much of my photography.

While nature photography is the majority of my collection, capturing pictures that illustrate the culture of a place has been a key driver in my travels. I was always curious to see how other people lived, to experience a glimpse of their way of life. Knowing that there was over 7 billion people in the world, and my town only had about 5,000, it makes one realize that there is a lot to explore.

Big Planet, Small World

Why "Big Planet, Small World"? Because both phrases couldn't be more true, despite being contradictory. One creates the yearning for more exploration and leaves us astounded at the Earth's greatness, variation, and vastness. The name shows my love of travel and nature. While the other humbles us in the connections we make and the similarities we find in cultures, no matter how much other cultures seem to contrast when only looking at its surface.
